Say the name of things
Next time you go for a walk, do something that will strike you as a bit crazy: say out loud the names of things you see - blackbird, clouds, dandelion, gravel... Children do that when they learn to speak. In this way, you activate both sides of the brain and you anchor the concepts in your memory. Slow routines down

While we're walking or travelling, we normally spend only a fraction of a second looking at everyday objects that we encounter. The day races past us without our really being aware of it. Scientists have discovered that the average time we spend looking at things has been steadily decreasing during the last 50 years. We tend to say that the world is going faster, but that might be because we are perceiving faster.

Just try looking at objects for at least five seconds. Good opportunities for this exercise come when you're walking or looking out of the car or train window. suddently, i stumbled upon these old pictures and videos in my external hard drive. this work was done in december 2007. my younger brother had an RC planes with broken wings and fuselage in his room and i think i can put a use to it. after discussing with my cousins, we decided to assemble in on a floating mechanism since the RC module and fans are working fine.

MRC01 - Flat Polystyrene Board (3/12/2007)

we successfully came out with 3 prototypes namely MRC01, MRC02 and MRC03 which differed in their type of floating mechanisms and roll stabilizers. MRC01 did not have any type of roll stabilizers making it very difficult to make turns. in order to change the direction, only one of the two propellers will be activated causing significant body roll.

MRC02 and MRC03 were equipped with battery-powered toy boat having its own powerhouse. this greatly saves the battery stored within the RC modules that would be totally dedicated for boat maneuver. however, both propellers could also be activated as acceleration booster. since toy boat add-on heighten the center of gravity of the boat structure, 500ml bottles was used as roll stabilizers. this had also contributed to higher propeller level from the water surface as compared to previous prototype thus ensure a peace of minds when doing tight cornering!!

sleep-over at food garden, LCCT!!

previously scheduled on 9.50pm, the flight AK5219 was retimed to depart from kuching international airport (KIA) on 11.25pm,.. it did not bother me at all since i had been planning on staying overnight at LCCT waiting for my early flight tomorrow to kuala terengganu,..

today my supervisor had phoned me since his naughty student (me) did not yet update him with the new plan of departing from kuching on 2nd of march, instead of 28th of february previously,.. surely, tomorrow i need to meet him!!

(there's still plenty of empty seats for those who want to join the sleep-over, yeay!!)

planning on doing review on my research proposal tonight, i ended up with facebook, twitter, youtube and blogger, haish~ haahaha!! go aman!! go aman!! productivity is the key of success!!

sarawak river cruise at kuching waterfront,..

i went for a walk at kuching waterfront with my cousin this evening,.. i decided to go there because i have not yet seen the new new extension of the waterfront,.. its a job well done and completed within very short period of time,..

rarely spend a time in my hometown, we take a while to see the water taxi which is used by people to cross the sarawak river from their residential area to the downtown,.. :)

flashing back memory since this place had been my playground when i was in secondary school, taking some of the kuching's air where tomorrow i will be back to terengganu,.. there will be hustle and bustle back in campus,..

green landscape had fully developed making it a great scenery to relax stressed minds, hee,.. finally, the poultry and fish market is shifted opening an innovative solutions,..

although it was hard for the citizen to let go the memorable and historic poultry market, but development is needed for new kuching and later generations,.. kuching, there lies history and future side-by-side,.. :)

fortunately, i managed to record the departure of sarawak river cruise from the waterfront,.. the departure time is 5.30pm daily and the ship only depart once daily,.. for adult, admission is RM60 whereas RM30 for children under 12 years of age,.. if you have an opportunity, don't forget to get aboard the ship and enjoy your dinner along the journey on sarawak river!!

kempen "9 hari mencari moon,.." (part 2)

the search party was allowed to rest throughout the whole afternoon to do their own activity that they considered as crazy,.. for me, "jom bercucuk tanam!! yeay!!" returned home after the jog, i went to Mek Siam alone to take my brunch, then to Mobil Station to return what's theirs - Smile (n_n) application form, then to what other place that is more wonderful than it?? "kedai bunga Batu Enam!!"

i just called the kedai as 'kedai bunga Batu Enam' as it is situated at Batu Enam, and the shop had no name, hee,.. however, the owner is very good and nice!! (puji-puji sebab dapat diskaun semalam, hee,..) went back home, plant this trees namely - Do, Re and Mi - then back to the command centre to intercept any broadcasted signal to detect Moon,..

based on the information provided by trusted intelligence, i went to Terengganu State Stadium to trace Moon since she was going there with her friend to take a walk,.. this certainly a great chance for me to catch her, haahaha!!

"finally, i am writing back after few days of rest,.. there's not enough positivity for me to write before, heehehe,.. until it is sufficient, my finger won't dance on the keyboard,.. haahahaha!!'

yesterday, i went for a jog at the campus,.. and, it was also Day 1 for the Campaign '9 hari mencari Moon' launched the night before,.. intelligences' information stated that Moon will do her work at on of the UMT's hatchery during yesterday morning,.. so the search party was done at the period of 8.30am to 10.30am,.. the spying jog was started from my home, GPS-recorded, to Moon's house then entering the campus compound through hostel's entrance,..

(Saltwater Hatchery, FASM)

first destination was the plankton lab of AKUATROP, then saltwater hatchery and AKUATROP's hatchery, AKUATROP's mini hatchery was also searched frivolously, haahaha!! result were negative,.. AKUATROP's research lab complex (picture below) is composed of four labs - water analysis lab, plankton lab (my lab!!), proximate analysis lab, fish disease lab and general working area attached to mini hatchery,..

two out of four major hatcheries - AKUATROP's hatchery and salwater hatchery - has been searched, the party then moved to mahseer hatchery and freshwater hatchery,.. for your information, AKUATROP's hatchery, saltwater hatchery and mini hatchery (minor hatchery) all have the capability of both saltwater and freshwater supply, whereas mahseer hatchery and freshwater hatchery only having freshwater supply, however of higher quality compared to the other two major hatchery,..

to get to the other two hatcheries - mahseer hatchery and freshwater hatchery - i need to go through beach gate where a volleyball competition 'Pesta Bola Tampar Pantai Antara PTJ UMT' was done that day,.. haahaha!! i managed to record the preparation of the event,..

'9 hari mencari moon' search party then moved to the mahseer hatchery and fresh water hatchery that was divided by faculty of science and technology and food lab complex,.. certainly, i knew that these areas would yield negative result, haahaha!!

after that, i jogged to Perpustakaan Sultanah Nur Zahirah - PSNZ's compound,.. then, to the swimming pool and mini stadium complex then to the hostel back to the campus' gate and finally return home,.. that day, search party did not managed to trace Moon,.. it's a failure but it's okay, haahaha!!

blood donation,..

amidst the hustle and bustle of the innovation competition during the UMT research day, i managed to go for a blood donation at UMT hostel's cafe,.. since it was lunch time, waiting time for the donation procedure was not as long as normal blood donation roadshow at the campus,.. we all know, right? when blood donation roadshow was done in any university campus, there will be long queue due to the awareness of new generations about their responsibility in medical contribution,..

it has been 4 months since my last blood donation and finally it's time for another,.. normally, three months are the minimum resting period you required before another donation,.. you need to think about the wellness of your bone marrow also, right? so, you will not overuse it,.. there are many advantages of blood donations,.. according to World Health Organization, some of them are:

hepatitis B surface antigen test
antibody to hepatitis C
antibody to HIV (subtypes 1 and subtypes 2)
serologic test for syphilis

a relatively large needle, with the size of ball pen ink cartridge will be used to take out blood,.. however, you will not feel any pain,.. not any pain at all, i swear!! so, if you have an opportunity for blood donation, just go for it,.. blood donation will stimulate your bone marrow, renewing your blood stock and rejuvenating your focus and response,..

seorang nelayan menjual hasil tangkapannya di pasar basah,.. di hadapannya ada dua bakul berisi ketam, satu tanpa penutup dan satu lagi ditutup ketat,.. seorang pembeli pun kehairanan lalu bertanya,..

pembeli: "pakcik, ape dalam bakul yang tertutup ni?"
penjual: "ketam juga macam dalam bakul sebelah yang terbuka tu,.."
pembeli: "kenapa bakul ketam ni tak berpenutup satu lagi berpenutup?"
penjual: "owh, ketam dalam bakul yang berpenutup ni ketam cina,.. ketam yang dalam bakul yang terbuka tu ketam melayu,.."

"ketam cina kalau terlepas seekor, dia akan tolong ketam-ketam lain,.. ketam-ketam yang lain pun akan ikut keluar,.. sebab tu kena tutup,.."

four days before, i went for 'Program Konsolidasi Patriotisme Ekonomi Bumiputera' organized by 'Gagasan Badan Ekonomi Melayu (GABEM)' at Dewan Sultan Mizan, UMT,.. the programme was attended by Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik (Chairman of GABEM), Dato' Ramlan Othman (Executive Director of GABEM), Dato' Mohd. Shukor Omar (Chairman, KMB Educational Services Sdn. Bhd.), Tuan Haji Sahlan Saruddin (Board of Director, GABEM), Mr. Kamarul Ariffin Ujang (Director, Economic Planning Unit),..

opening ceremony was performed by the Chairman of GABEM

the half-day-event was divided into two sessions which are speech by Dato' Ramlan Othman and Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik whereas the other session after the morning break was paperwork presentations and dialog session with the audience regarding current economic scenario of bumiputera,.. the program was very inspiring and act as a wake-up call for the educated younger generation of bumis to participate in the economic playground,..

bumis especially malay are very weak and not competitive,.. the chairman of GABEM believed this maybe due to the inherited upbringings and teachings of soft-spoken, 'it's okay' or 'tak ape,..' mentality, lack of arguing and questioning attitudes, vengefulness, jealousy, laziness and inconsistency in effort,.. these characteristics had already become deeply-rooted in the society and it is very hard to change,..

woke up early, planning and arranging to-do tasks, wipe mists on car using wet towel,.. in my mind, today will be the day for me to present my innovative product : FLE-PBR at Dewan Sultan Mizan,.. wore formal attire with black leather shoes, i decided that i will take my algae culture from the Plankton Lab, AKUATROP then my prototype from BK, BS,.. i went to the campus with mr. anip, one person that is always be by my side during this prototype construction and modification,.. i called my supervisor asking whether i should take the prepared scientific poster from RMIC or the centre will take it to DSM, and he told that he will confirm it to me later,..

Etty adalah calon untuk pilihanraya MPP UMT tahun lepas,.. walau bagaimanpun, Etty tidak berjaya menang pilihanraya tersebut,.. dia kemudiannya terlibat dalam Sekretariat Rukun Negara UMT, aku pernah berbual beberapa kali dengan Etty dan pernah sekali bertegur-sapa ketika terserempak dengannya di Surat FASM UMT,.. aku selalu bergurau ketika di dalam kelas mengatakan Etty seorang yang cantik, sehingga rakan-rakanku selalu membuatkanku terkejut,.. "Aman, Etty!!" ketika pintu dibuka,.. padahal, tak ada apa-apa pun,.. suka cari topik untuk menyerikan kelas,..

3. Fatihah (UMT - tahun 2009)

Fatihah adalah 'coursemate'-ku ketika aku melengkapkan Ijazah Sarjana Akuakultur,.. disebabkan Fatihah seorang yang pemalu, rakan-rakanku terutamanya Mukriz selalu bergurau dengan 'mengenakan' Fatihah dengan aku,.. hee, sampai pakwe tihah tu pun cemburu,.. kitorang kacau tihah sebab dia pemalu, kalau dia buat biasa je, lama dah berhenti kacau dia,.. namun, Fatihah adalah rakan karib kepada kumpulan 'Team Rocket', kumpulan pelajar nakal MSc. Akuakultur (C), heehehe,..

4. Ting Lee Yin (UNIMAS - tahun 2007)

aaa!! ini adalah kes pertama dalam REVOLUSI AMAN, heehehe,.. Lee Yin adalah subjek pertama kepada revolusi ini, dan aku lakukan ketika aku masih berada pada tahun kedua BSc. Bioteknologi di UNIMAS, tahun 2007,.. ketika itu, Lee Yin baru sahaja menyertai kumpulan Bioteknologi (WS47) setelah bertukar daripada kumpulan Zoologi yang diambilnya pada tahun pertama,.. Lee Yin menyertai kumpulan kami bersama seorang rakannya dari kumpulan yang sama, Ng Seau Feun,.. bila ada pelajar baru masuk kumpulan baru, apa lagi, habislah!! heehehe, tiap-tiap kali Lee Yin masuk kelas aku pun berkata kepada kelas, "awek cun!! awek cun!!" berlakon seakan-akan aku berdebar-debar,.. sampai satu kelas pun ingat aku suka kat Lee Yin, hee,.. tapi, sebagai penutup kempen berkenaan aku pun berdepan dengan Lee Yin buat julung-julung kalinya,..

safely return to kuala terengganu from kuantan on 9.30pm, after 212km of journey yesterday, alhamdulillah,.. thanks to my housemate mat anip for his company,.. now CCS 9625 privately named by me as 'Andromeda Helious II', since it is now my own official transportation,.. today could be considered as an orientation for Andromeda of my daily routine activities, and it was also her first friday,..

Andromeda is from the model SAGA FL manufactured by PROTON, consist of powertrain of Campro 1.3 IAFM, coupled with 5-speed manual transmission, add-on with entry-level safety equipment,.. she was priced at RM 40698, which i just could barely afford with my savings and future scholarship,.. i am really grateful by having her by my side, thank you so much to my parents for their financial assistance and advice,..

now, it would be easier for me to shuttle to-and-fro between home and campus,.. i can bring more things with me, or just leave important documents of equipment which previously i need to budget when i walked to the campus under 40-inch umbrella during this monsoon season,..

thank you Allah, alhamdulillah,.. and thousand appreciation to my parents with their help and support!! hopefully, this gift would bring more benefits to me and people around me,..

yesterday, i went to the Terengganu Batik Gallery,.. it is situated at about 700 metres from Dataran Syahbandar,.. at the gallery i was given explanation about the gallery and Terengganu Institute of Design Excellence (TiDE) by Mr. Ahmad Ridzuan, prefer to be called Wan,.. although i don't have any basics or sense of art, the officer-in-charge easily make me understand about the whole characteristics of Terengganu's batik,..

at the present time, the gallery is currently focus on the exhibition of batik fabrics, motives and colour tone,.. several contemporary elegant-designed blouses, gowns and shirts was also exhibited,.. you will have no idea of how attractive a batik fabrics when incorporated in dinner or special occasion's clothings!! it's really great!!

TiDE currently focus on introducing the Terengganu's batik at Milan and Paris in order to cater the European markets,.. wood engraving art and weaving art also lies under TiDE, making the it an institute that responsible in sustaining a complete diversity of Terengganu's cultural arts,.. in the near future, TiDE would perform massive R&D in incorporating weaved fabrics of cultural motives with contemporary tones of colour for the purpose of interior designs such as furniture and appliances,..

i really hope that TiDE would succeed in their roles, insyaAllah,.. as a component of culture, batik will bring great economical, financial and social benefits to the citizen of Malaysia,.. and, may our batik been recognized in the whole world,..

setelah sekian lama, akhirnya aku kembali menulis,.. semalam aku tidur awal selepas makan ubat yang diberikan pusat kesihatan UMT, alhamdulillah demamku dah semakin kebah,.. insyaAllah akan sembuh cepat,.. aku bangun awal pagi tadi, mandi dan siapkan diri kemudian pergi makan kat warung mek siam sebab malam semalam tak makan, jadi kena cari sumber nutrien yang lengkap secepat mungkin,..

aku selamat sampai ke KT rabu lalu lepas seminggu bersama keluarga bercuti di kuala lumpur, dan sebelum itu meluangkan masa berehat selama dua minggu di kampung halaman kuching sarawak,.. ahad ni di kuala terengganu cuti umum sebab krismas jatuh pada hujung minggu,.. penyeliaku maklumkan yang tarikh tutup permohonan biasiswa MyPhD MyBrain15 akan ditutup pada 27 disember ini,.. hazwan memaklumkanku melalui smsnya pagi tadi yang permohonan tersebut akan ditutup pada 31 disember untuk pengambilan januari, jadi masih ada tiga hari tambahan untuk permohonan,..

pihak sekolah siswazah UMT memberitahu aku bahawa mesyuarat senat untuk kelulusan peperiksaan akhir MSc. akuakultur akan dilakukan pada 30hb disember, jadi setelah itu baru MSc. akuakultur akan dibenarkan untuk mendapat pra-transkrip keputusan dan surat pengesahan bergraduat,.. kemasukan PhD. UMT telah diluluskan pada mesyuarat senat semalam, oleh itu aku telah disahkan sebagai pelajar PhD. di UMT,..

walaubagaimanapun, permohonan untuk biasiswa MyPhD masih tidak dapat dibuat kerana status MSc. aku masih lagi tergantung,.. harap segala urusan ini akan selesai minggu hadapan, dan aku sentiasa menunggu hadirnya mutiara hikmah daripada masalah ini,..

yesterday visit at terengganu museum with abe mukerih and kak ainnu was great!! we went there to see the venomous animal exhibition,.. after walking throughout all the gallery, we were called for the snake show at 4.15pm,.. luckily, we still have the chance to watch some show since we arrived late at the museum,..

i managed to record the snake show that time, and most important, legally,.. heehehe,.. here's some of the footage!! if you guys have the opportunity, just come visit terengganu museum,.. some of the exhibitions are tarantula, various venomous snake (cobras), pythons, scorpions, puffer fish, catfish and natural remedies for treating bites,.. X) its worth your five ringgits, heehehe!!

there were so many memories i got in fishing, both bitter and sweet,.. i have learnt so many values from it, sharing precious moments with friends,.. about a couple of weeks ago, i had been to merang for fishing,.. haahaha, guess what? i loss my fishing rod and spinning reel in one go,.. they fell under the bridge near jetty when we were fishing,.. i swam and dive to find it, but failed,.. it's okay, why do you want to burden your mind thinking of the loss things? it was already loss, no matter how heavy you regret, things would not come back,.. so, think of the future!! think how you can correct your mistake to prevent it from occurring again,.. think positive and learn how to cheer in despair and in 'unfavorable condition', haahaha!!

Step 1: Make a decision.
Decide clearly that you are going to begin acting in a specific way 100 percent of the time. For example, if you decide to rise early and exercise each morning, set your clock for a specific time; when the alarm goes off, immediately get up, put on your exercise clothes, and begin your exercise session.

Step 2: Never allow an exception.
Do not make exceptions to your new habit pattern during the formative stages. Don't make excuses or rationalizations. Don't let yourself off the hook. If you resolve to get up at 6:00 a.m. each morning, discipline yourself to get up at 6:00 a.m., every single morning until this become automatic.

Step 3: Tell others.
Inform people around you that you are going to begin practicing a particular behavior. It is amazing how much more disciplined and determined you will become when you know others are watching you to see if you have the willpower to follow through on your resolution.

Step 4: Visualize yourself.
In your mind's eye, see yourself performing or behaving in a particular way in a particular situation. The more often you visualize and imagine yourself acting as if you already had the new habit, the more rapidly this new behavior will be accepted by your subconscious mind and become automatic.

Step 5: Create an affirmation.
Repeat affirmation over and over to yourself. This repetition dramatically increases the speed at which you develop the new habit. For example, you can say something like, "I get up and get going immediately at 6:00 each morning!" Repeat these words the last thing before you fall asleep. In most cases, you will automatically wake up minutes before the alarm clock goes off, and soon you will need no alarm clock at all.

Step 6: Resolve to persist.
Keep practicing the new behavior until it is so automatic and easy that you actually feel uncomfortable when you do not do what you have decided to do.

Step 7: Reward yourself.
Most important, give yourself a treat of some kind for practicing the new behavior. Each time you reward yourself, you reaffirm and reinforce the behavior. Soon you begin to associate, at an unconscious level, the pleasure of the reward with the behavior. You set up your own force field of positive consequences that you unconsciously look forward to as the result of engaging in the behavior or habit that you have decided upon.
